One of the simplest pleasures in life can be tucking into a full Irish breakfast. What a great way to set yourself up for the day ahead.
Perhaps it’s not too healthy to have one every day but once in a while it really hits the spot.
If you’re going to treat yourself to an Irish breakfast every now and again you might as well get it as near to perfect as can be.
That’s where Irish lady Beth Magill comes in. She has created a great video showing how to make the dream traditional Irish breakfast.
Beth tells the camera: “Today we’re going to make an Ulster Fry. It comprises of bacon, Irish sausage, mushrooms, white pudding and black pudding, tomatoes, potato cakes and soda bread.”
With a little help from her family she prepares the meal. As she does, she tells the audience about the importance that an Irish fry-up has meant to generations of her family.
Not only does the meal look delicious but Beth’s demeanour and storytelling style in front of the camera will warm your heart – and have you longing to head back to your mammy’s for a bite to eat.
The video is part of the ‘Food for thought’ series from Leeds Museum and Galleries YouTube channel which look at ethnic dishes from various cultures.
